The Clemson Class of 1956 came to with a "dream of getting a college education and a Clemson diploma." 1,107 young men enrolled in 1952 with only 653 returning for their sophomore year in 1953. By 1956, there were just 479 graduates who made it through the rigors of attending a military college. In 2001, 45 years after graduating, the Class of 1956 had a vision to fund the building of the Academic Support Center. This vision became a reality: the groundbreaking ceremony took place in 2008 and the Class of 1956 Academic Success Center opened its doors in 2012.
