Russell of Jamestown, second from right, receives a trophy on behalf of the Clemson chapter from A.J. Schwantes, extreme right, head of the Agricultural Engineering department at the University of Minnesota, and president of the national group of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. Clemson won the award as having the outstanding student group of ASAE in the colleges in the United States and Canada and was based on a 100-page summary of the activities of the Clemson chapter. Other Clemson men attending the national meeting in Michigan were, left to right, A.W. Snell of Elloree, J.P. Bull of Santee, L.G. Jeffords of Timmonsville and H.N. Black of Ruffin.
